Wanna invest in a new camera? Be careful…

Cameras are NOT like golf clubs. I have golf clubs manufactured by MULTIPLE companies in my golf bag. No problems there…

But buy a Canon camera body…or buy a Nikon camera body…and they own you! There’s no going back. Oh yeah…you can change your mind. It’s just REAL expensive…

Camera gear (lenses, batteries, chargers, flash units, filters, etc.) are ALL manufacturer specific. Nikon lenses do not fit on a Canon body…and vice versa. Ditto for all of those other expensive accessories. You have to (you REALLY don’t HAVE to…but I want some people to think that's the case) spend thousands and thousands of dollars to get properly outfitted for quality photography! Gotcha…

Like all other technologies, cameras change MONTHLY. The latest and greatest offering from Canon is quickly superseded by a Nikon model. Fortunately…or not…it doesn’t take Canon too long to catch up. It’s like a mini-arms race for photographers…

So here's the deal. Your relationship with a camera manufacturer is not unlike many of your other relationships. Use good judgment…plan ahead…work it…keep it fresh…commit. You already know what happens if you don’t…
